Tier A — Core Gospel
Why does God allow suffering?
Short answer
Scripture gives no cold, quick answer. It says the world is broken by sin, that God hates suffering, and that He entered it Himself at the cross.
Deeper explanation
Some suffering comes from human choices, some from a broken world. Scripture rejects two extremes: blaming the sufferer, or saying suffering means nothing.
Christianity is distinct because its God does not stand far off. Jesus wept at Lazarus' tomb and died on a cross.
If you are suffering right now, you do not need to win a debate first. You are welcome to talk to a real person.
Scripture
- • John 11:35
- • Romans 8:18-23
- • Revelation 21:4
Common objection
“A good and all-powerful God would not permit suffering.”
The objection assumes that if we cannot see a reason, there is none. The cross shows God can work through suffering without approving evil.
AI only helps begin the conversation and is never the final theological authority. Scripture governs, humans shepherd, Christ saves.
